About Me

I’m Breanna Ruby. People may describe me as cozy, intense, a good hostess, crafty, a doer, opinionated, highly intentional, reserved, eldest daughter vibes, or thoughtful, depending on the context or area of life they know me in 😉 I’m 30 and currently live in Montpelier, VT with my husband David and our Great Pyrenees dog Bjorn. I write a little about a lot and like to dive deep into cultural analysis, whatever historical topic is my current special interest, and ways we can make our lives cozier and slower.

My background:

  • I was born and raised in the greater St. Louis area and have all the stereotypical Midwest sensibilities. Ope!

  • I love learning and going down deep rabbit holes over anything that piques my interest. I'm a big interesting fact sharer and nice asset for a trivia team. I promise when I share interesting tidbits or relevant pieces of info that I'm not trying to come off as a know-it-all!!

  • For my job, I am a manager of a small team of business analysts at a software company. I might write about professional development sometimes, but from a perspective of how to work smarter, not harder so you can spend more time doing what you actually love and care about. I'm in active recovery for burn out and high achieving and have become disillusioned of the corporate game yet must persist for a check! Let's commiserate!

  • I’m an Enneagram 3, INFJ, and my big 3 are Libra Sun, Leo Moon, and Cancer Rising. I love tarot and astrology for self-understanding and creative problem solving and will probably talk about the moon a lot in this newsletter like the little Cancer rising I am.
